Hi Brady,
Yes, blue light is good in the morning and early day to help you wake up and be active but not at night when you need to sleep
You can use our Health type or adjust the settings to your preferences in Advanced view of the program to make sure they’re exactly what you want

I am looking for the most effective mode that reduces flicker and blue light at all times. Is this necessary though? Some blue light is not a bad thing right? What I understand is blue light emitting from devices and lights will have an influence on sleep quality. What other info can you direct me to that would be helpful for myself and to share with others? What about LCD flatscreens. I find myself wearing my blue light blocking glasses during the day when I use my computer, but wasn’t sure if this is necessary? Thank you for all that you do!!

Hi Laura,
There is no problem in wearing your glasses while using Iris as well

I know this is probably an idiot question but I’d like to know if using Iris takes away the need for using both daytime and nighttime blue-light blocking glasses when working on my computer? I’m guessing the answer is yes, but just want to make sure. Thanks!

Hi Chuck,
Can you write to us at contact@iristech.co with a detailed explanation of what exactly your problem is?
It shouldn’t be a problem that you’re using Windows 8.1
You can download Iris from here:

Keep me updated if the problem continues!

Hi Daniel:

Your software is wonderful!!! Its been a year and a half and I can see a 80%
improvement with my dry eyes. But my computer just crashed and I went back to installing it again on my Windows 8.1 and its not working. I believe I purchased life time for 14.00 USD I think with a code w9bD……tried more than once. Can you help and solve my problem trying to reinstall? Anything would be appreciated! Your friend and happy customer….Chuck Brown USA

You can control blue light levels from here:
https://iristech.co/blue-light-page-help

Basically, you can set Day and Night Light to be whichever value you want, so you can set them both to 75% 🙂

I used that maximum on your little program I got on giveawayoftheday.com. But now I have a much bigger program and an not sure what to do with it.
Thank you.

While they are both black and white, they are not the same thing. E-ink is generally safer and easier on the eyes but it slow refresh rate makes it bad to use for anything other than reading

Thank you for the awesome software. I wonder how does the reading mode compared with E-ink device as a monitor? Are they basically the same, or E-ink device is still much better? Thank you.

Reading type is best for flicker reduction
https://iristech.co/type-dropdown-help/#reading-type

All types remove PWM flicker but Reading type also removes Subpixel flicker for LCD monitors
For more info see:

Thank you for this excellent health conscious software. I struggle with chronic disease however need to use my computer a lot. Which mode affects flicker the most? It seems the various modes affect blue light but what if you want constant flicker reduction?
